Volunteer With Us

We are greatly indebted, not only to our growing team of highly-committed volunteer staff, but also to the professionals who support us and the ongoing support from parents who have been helped by SOS!SEN in the past.

Our volunteers sit at the heart of our ability to support parents and families.  They deliver our core services, overseen and trained by our co-ordinator, Eleanor Wright, a SEN solicitor.

Our volunteers are typically parents of children and young people with SEND. They have been or, in some cases, are still on the journey with their own families but are committed to supporting others, like you, who find themselves in a similar situation.

If you are thinking of joining our team, we’d love to hear from you.

Joining us as a volunteer

We have a small administrative team in the office, but we are convinced that parents are empowered by all the understanding and knowledge that is best provided by volunteers who have experienced the problems first hand.

We are always looking for volunteers to join us. You might be able to do a few hours a week on our helpline, provide advice to parents at a Walk-In Advice Centre, or support families with advice in a 1:1 session or checking documents. You may have experience in fundraising or able to support us in the charity shop. There are so many ways you can help us.

We provide monthly training for all those volunteers supporting families.

Download our volunteer application form on the link above. We can’t wait to meet you.
